Pixelated

Evening WUGS Faithfuls!

For those who might be interested, I posted a link to Pixelated - a short experimental game I’ve been working on this summer - in the Games section. The game is in a beta stage, though there’s already been a bunch of polish and a fair amount of testing done. If you’ve got some time, check it out and let me know what you think!

New Things!

Hi everyone!

So I finally had some time to work on the website, and I’ve fixed the forums. The button at the top will take you there, but in case you need it for any reason, the link is www.wugs.org/forums. The registration process requires admin approval (i.e. I have to push a button) but I figure that’s better than spam accounts getting created all the time.

In addition to the forums, I’ve also set up trac to interface with the Escape From Dr. Martin’s Lab project that we’re working on. I haven’t linked to the site yet, but if you’re curious the link is trac.wugs.org. Right now it’s password protected, but I will eventually fix that to be public for reading ticket status and progress. If you’ve already emailed me about a subversion account, then your username and password should work as a login. If you haven’t emailed me about a subversion account, then we will fix that at thursday’s meeting.

Hope to see you all there!

WUGS Game Video

Hey everyone!

So we forgot to post this on the website last week, but we wanted to show you the work a few of us have been doing over the past two semesters. For those of you unaware, Wes, Joyce, Jared, Jessica, Jeff, and I are all working on an Independent Study with Professor Tao Ju. We’re making a puzzle game using the Torque Game Engine with four controllable characters who are attempting to escape from a mad scientist’s lab.

Two Fridays ago, Wes and I made a video showing off much of the first level of our game and we showed it at out last meeting. If you missed it, here’s the link: Cool Video

Hope you guys enjoy it!

WUGS Meeting!
Time: 9:00pm
Place: Greggg Tech Classroom

First of all, if you are planning on going to the GDC and have not yet sent wugs(AT)sugroups(DOT)wustl(DOT)edu an e-mail yet, please do so, EVEN IF WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING. We need this information from you:

  • Your name
  • Your cell phone number (for the contact list once we’re in California)
  • The days you plan to be there (the conference runs from Monday, March 5 to Friday, March 10)
  • The type of pass you are purchasing

This week, we are also going to be planning for our EnWeek event — we’ve been asked to plan a Video Games with the Deans thingamajig, and we’d love some help with volunteering time or systems for the day.

A SHOUT OUT TO OUR PRES-I-DEN-TE, turning 21. :O zomg Muerte San

Game of the Week: Gears of War…networked on televisions and the projector :O

Subversion Lives!

Hi all! Its your friendly neighborhood webmaster. I sat down with the VP of breaking things (Raber) and setup Subversion. This is a successful transition of the wugs website/subversion/everything off of my personal computer and onto a more permanent hosting environment. For those of you who are new - or those that just don’t listen to my rants - subversion is the latest source control gizmo on the intertron. In real person terms, it acts as a centralized place to store our projects, and it keeps logs of all the old versions of files. You are probably wondering, “But Erik, how do I get access to subversion” or “Hey! I can’t login anymore!!!” the answer is Raber broke things, and any of the officers can add your account info.
